Terms of Service

My Online Paper provides a multi-tenant cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) content management system (CMS), digital electronic paper (e-paper) reader, and whitelabel publication hosting platform.

The service enables registered news organizations, regional media houses, and independent journalists to manage editorial desks, publish digital news stories, upload print-replica PDF editions, attach custom domains, and deliver responsive reading experiences to the public.

Publishing organizations access the platform through dedicated tenant workspaces governed by role-based access control (RBAC):

• Content Sovereignty: Publishers retain exclusive editorial ownership over all news articles, editorial opinions, author bylines, photography, and e-paper editions published under their tenant account.
• Publisher Liability & Truthfulness: Each publishing organization is solely responsible for ensuring that all uploaded editorial content complies with applicable press ethics, intellectual property laws, defamation standards, and copyright licenses.
• Account Credentials: Authorized users are responsible for safeguarding their login credentials and promptly reporting any suspected account compromise.

To safeguard the multi-tenant cloud environment for all publishers, users and API clients agree strictly not to:

• Attempt cross-tenant data access, tampering, or manipulation of another newsroom's articles or media assets.
• Perform unauthorized penetration testing, denial-of-service simulations, or credential stuffing against platform endpoints without prior authorization.
• Upload malicious executables, infected PDF payloads, or corrupted media designed to exploit viewer environments.
• Attempt to bypass platform role-based access control or edge hostname routing filters.

Platform infrastructure operates with automated operational controls:

• Maintenance Windows: The platform maintains an operational maintenance mode (returning HTTP 503 with a branded status screen) during scheduled infrastructure upgrades, database migrations, or emergency security remediations.
• Publication Lifecycle: Publications operate under a managed state machine (active, suspended, archived). When a publication is suspended for administrative or contractual reasons, public readership is halted while editorial data and historical archives remain preserved.

The division of intellectual property is strictly maintained:

• Platform IP: The My Online Paper brand, software codebase, reader interface, design systems, algorithms, and documentation are the exclusive intellectual property of the platform operators.
• Publisher IP: All journalism, news stories, photographs, masthead designs, trademarks, and printed edition archives remain the sole intellectual property of the respective publishing tenant.

The platform offers tiered subscription plans as outlined on our Pricing Page:

• Billing Status Notice: Numerical subscription fees, recurring billing cycles, and automated payment gateways are currently undecided and not yet active on the platform. Current onboarding is coordinated via direct sales engagement.
• Owner Confirmation Pending: Final commercial billing terms, payment provider selection, currency options, and invoice settlement windows will be updated upon formal conclusion of owner business review.

Publisher subscription cancellations and refund requests are governed by our dedicated Refund & Cancellation Policy. Publishers may request cancellation at any time; access continues through the remainder of the active prepaid term, after which the publication workspace enters suspended status with archival preservation.

Platform services run on Google Cloud Platform and Firebase infrastructure (us-central1 region). Where publishers enable optional AI Editorial Assistance, drafts and headlines are processed via secure server-side AI endpoints. Publishers remain solely responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before public dissemination.

Upon account termination or subscription expiry, client editorial data is retained in suspended status for a grace period allowing machine-readable export before permanent deletion. Permanent tenant archival or deletion is governed by platform superadministration in accordance with data protection requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, platform software and hosting are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Platform operators are not liable for lost profits, indirect damages, or content authored by client newsrooms. For full details on platform boundaries, consult our SaaS Platform Disclaimer.

The formal registered legal entity, designated corporate seat, governing jurisdiction, and dispute resolution forum are pending formal owner and legal counsel determination. In the interim, disputes or contractual inquiries should be submitted to platform management for informal resolution.
